Licking County/Newark City Water Project
Village of Hanover Resident Update-May 19th, 2026
The Village of Hanover understands and acknowledges the concerns and complaints we have received regarding the current condition of roads and construction activity associated with the Newark City Water Project taking place throughout portions of the Village.
We would like residents to be aware that this is a county-managed water project and not a Village of Hanover project. Because of this, the Village has very limited authority or direct control over the project itself, including many aspects of construction scheduling and roadway impacts.
That said, please know that Village officials are working closely with the project contractor, Miller Pipeline, and the county-hired engineering firm, StructurePoint, on a daily basis to help ensure the concerns of both the Village and our residents are addressed in a timely manner throughout the duration of the project.
We understand the frustrations associated with road conditions, traffic disruptions, dust, mud, and ongoing construction, and we appreciate everyone’s patience as this important infrastructure project moves forward.
At this time, the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026, so we kindly ask residents to bear with us over the next several months as work continues. The Village will continue advocating for our residents and working with all parties involved to help minimize impacts wherever possible.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
